The most used calendar is based on the 7 day week, 4 week month, 13 month year.
This fits well with the lunar cycles (see `moons') of 28 days. The first day of
the week (Sun) is Holy Day. The last day of the week is Marketday (Sat). The
moon is full on the first day of the month. The last Marketday of the month is
the biggest shopping day, called full Marketday since the moon is nearly
full.
Months are named for saints. The first holy day of each month (that is, the
first day of each month) is considered a feast day for that saint. The seasons
are very roughly divided as follows.
- Ohramin
- Cheryl (fem.)
- Johore (fem.)
- Gregory
- Ignatius
- Louis
- Harkan
- Wodan
- Kennan
- Mandean (fem.)
- Martin
- Scheran
- Sinequanan
(fem. = female, just a note to clarify)
- 1 Ohramin, Winter Solstice, Feast of Ohramin
- 1 - 14 Gregory, Hampshire Fair
- 8 Gregory, Vernal (Spring) Equinox
- 1 Harkan, Feast of Harkan
- 15 Harkan, Summer Solstice
- 22 Mandean, Autumnal Equinox
- In addition to the two big feasts named, the first day of each month is a feast
day for that saint.
