Magic as taught by Spectrum
Metaphysics
Just as for the Bahamut priests.
Bonuses and Restrictions from understanding of Magic
- Forget healthy and happy. This is a game of conquest -- survival of the fittest. Because there are fewer followers of Her than of Him, we need to fit in, to infiltrate, to work from within. She grants us the power to do so. Often you will see this cast a little differently: here Bahamut is the tyrannical ruler and Tiamat is the wonderful, egalitarian who really just wants everyone to be able to go their own way and do their own thing and Bahamut is the awful beasty that doesn't want anyone to have any power but him.
- Spectrum priests receive +2 on the use of things which help them to assimilate and corrupt more effi- ciently. In particular, Comm/Emp, Knowledge, Mind.
- They also get +2 on things associated with dragons -- Air and Fire.
- She, and us through her, are here to master creation, to run the show. Even the Veil of Death of not opaque to us. Necromancy gets a +2.
Moral bonuses/restrictions
- Protection is for the weak. -2 on this one.
- Illusions are for the weak willed, easily detected by any worthy opponent. -2.
Bonuses/restrictions by tradition
- Air spells just aren't used.
Outward signs
- Precious few. They infiltrate -- look just like your next door neighbor, or maybe your Confessor.
- All spells are cast in Old Wyrmish -- the antithesis of the Loquacious Hermit example: low in tone, loud and harsh.
Program/Spell Lists
Learn what you can, from wherever you can. Since they share the same basis as the Bahamut folks,
that's usually where the simple spells come from.
